Giving your smile the attention it deserves

Restorative Care from Sensational Smiles

The health of your smile affects more than just the appearance of your teeth. For example, untreated decay can lead to infection, and missing teeth can cause changes in your bite, make eating uncomfortable, and hinder your speech. So what if you have one or more teeth in need of treatment?

This is where restorative dentistry comes in. Our dentists are well versed in the latest restorative techniques, including dental implants and full mouth reconstructions. So whether you need to address cavities or replace missing teeth, you can receive all the treatments you need under one roof from the same Sensational Smiles team you already know and trust.

Effective treatment for decay

Dental Fillings

If a tooth has a small cavity or chip, we treat it by removing any decay and placing a dental filling to rebuild the tooth in that area. We primarily use tooth-colored fillings as we can color-match them to blend in beautifully with your natural smile. The composite resin material also insulates the area, helping protect the tooth against hot or cold sensitivity.

Dental Crowns

When a tooth has suffered extensive damage, it may need a dental crown. We can prepare your tooth and place your permanent crown all in the same visit using our CEREC same day crown system. With CEREC same day crowns, you won’t have to deal with messy impressions, a temporary crown, or a second visit. We will take digital impressions and design a crown that fits perfectly over your tooth and blends in beautifully with the rest of your teeth. If you would prefer porcelain, gold, or other crown material, we can also use that. However, please note that non-CEREC crowns require two separate appointments. When it comes to the preparation and placement of any dental crown, your comfort is our top priority. For local anesthesia, we use DentalVibe, which replaces topical gel for a more comfortable numbing process.

Dental Bridges

Missing teeth can significantly impact your smile, your oral health, and your everyday life. At Sensational Smiles, we use dental bridges as a reliable and long-lasting solution to replace missing teeth. A dental bridge contains one or more pontics, or prosthetic teeth, anchored to the adjoining teeth by dental crowns. Dental bridges help to restore your smile so that you can chew and speak normally again and prevent the other teeth from shifting. Our team will match the color and shape of the surrounding teeth for a natural look so you can smile confidently.

Partial and Full Dentures

At Sensational Smiles, we offer both partial and full dentures to restore your smile and enhance your oral function. Partial dentures are ideal if you have to replace multiple missing teeth but still have some healthy teeth remaining. Full dentures replace both the upper and lower arches when you have no natural teeth left. Both options are designed to complete your smile so you can live a normal and healthy life. Having a complete set of teeth is not just important from a looks perspective; it’s important for nutrition, speech, and overall health. All our dentures are completely custom-made to ensure we achieve an optimal fit that allows you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Implant-Supported Dentures

At Sensational Smiles, we understand that wearing traditional dentures can be challenging for some. They take some getting used to, can rub against the gums, and may require adhesive to prevent shifting. We do offer implant-supported dentures as an alternative that eliminates these challenges.

Implant-supported dentures are, as their name implies, firmly held in place by dental implants, which we can place here at our Minnesota Avenue dental office. These implants provide a stable foundation for your dentures, eliminating the possibility of the dentures rubbing the gums or slipping out of place. Sensational Smiles offers hybrid dentures, implant-retained dentures, and leave-in dentures. Our experienced team will work closely with you to determine the option that will work best with your lifestyle and preferences.

Dental Implants

If you’re seeking a permanent solution to replace missing teeth, dental implants are an excellent choice. We can place your dental implants at our Minnesota Avenue office, and then you’ll receive your final implant crowns back at our Phillips Avenue location. Dental implants are a great solution whether you have one or many missing teeth. They effectively restore your oral health and function, resulting in a healthy, beautiful smile.

A customized approach to rebuilding your smile

Full Mouth Reconstruction

A healthy smile can make a big difference in your overall well-being. Sensational Smiles offers full mouth reconstructions to address complex dental issues and restore all the teeth in the mouth back to optimal health. This is a personalized approach to restoring your smile using a series of restorative, and sometimes cosmetic, treatments. Your dentist will create a comprehensive treatment plan designed to address your unique needs and goals. We’ll work closely with you to restore the health, function, and aesthetics of your teeth, ensuring that every aspect of your smile receives the attention it deserves.

Questions about

Restorative Dentistry

Your crowns should last anywhere from 5 to 8 years. However, with good oral hygiene and supervision, most crowns will last for a much longer period of time. Some damaging habits like grinding your teeth, chewing ice or fingernail biting may cause this period of time to decrease significantly.

No, only about 15 percent of teeth that have crowns completed will need root canals. The need for a root canal is related to the total trauma that the tooth has experienced over time. It is true that if a tooth has a root canal done on it, then you most often will want to have a crown completed to protect your tooth from splitting.
